As the Internet grows constantly and spreads worldwide, statistics believe that this will continue to increase in the years to come. Internet users will increase to about 3 billion by the end of 2014.
According to the United Nations, 4.3 billion people are without online access, most of which are living in developing countries. By the end of this year, it is estimated that 42.4% of the world’s population will be online. This is set to jump 6.3% over the year and reach the half global scale by 2018.
The influx of this is due to the availability of lower-cost mobile phones and broadband connections in emerging markets like India and Indonesia.
Google also shared recently details on their new project called Loon. The company’s network of LTE-enabled balloons that deliver Internet access to connect people in rural or remote areas. These balloons can last up to 100 days which is 10 times longer than they lasted a year ago. Google can now launch 20 balloons a day thanks to a five minute inflation.
We are hoping this further enhances the reach of users for Internet which will further help our website development business excel and find new customers worldwide.
