It was a big day in technology today, Apple held it’sĀ annual Worldwide Developers Conference. At Pearl White Media, we are always thrilled to hear the conference’s latest updates.
Apple provided plenty of software updates, including it’s new iOS 8 hardware. There was much to talk about after the event. The company showcased their new operating systems for iPhone, iPad and Mac, along with health-tracking and smart home devices.
For your desktop, Apple announced Mac OS X Yosemite. A redesigned, clean user interface similar to iOS7 released in the past. A cool new feature is if you have an iPhone, you can now place and receive calls from your Mac, and even receive text messages from non-iPhone users. Safari was also redesigned with a slimmer menu bar.
A new feature is Family Sharing allowing up to six people to share iTunes purchases, apps, movies and music with the same linked credit card. Families will be able to access each other’s calendars and photos. Parents will also now be able to control their children’s purchasing ability on their phones. It will ask permission from the cardholder of the account credit card before making a purchase.
This new version of iOS 8 will become available in the Fall along with many other new features, so stay tuned.
